I attended Traci Park’s press conference this morning announcing a comprehensive public safety package. She was joined by LAPD Chief Jim McDonnell and our new DA, Nathan Hochman.
The initiative, titled “A Safer 11 For A Better 11” is designed to address some of the most pressing safety issues keeping us all up at night.
The initiative for CD-11 includes:
100 Automated License Plate Readers across the district, including at least one at the Manchester/ Lincoln intersection to deter street racing and intersection takeovers prevalent at that intersection
$200,000 for LAPD overtime funding for additional patrols, particularly around homeless housing sites
$100,000 for tree trimming services to improve lighting and visibility on our streets
A motion directed at strengthening security at our local libraries
Park Ranger Patrols at Venice Beach
Chief McDonnell and DA Hochman both vowed to work as partners with Traci to send a clear message to criminals that CD11 is done with their unlawful acts. Traci stated “Our objective is straightforward – to reclaim our neighborhoods by delivering the safety our constituents deserve."
